Inner Balm Yoga Class Timetable June 2017

As classes will be run from a new location this year (2017), I do not currently have any group classes scheduled. Details will be provided asap, I will be emailing current students to let you know where I will be teaching.

In the meantime, try practicing a few of your favourite poses.  Your body knows what it needs; those poses that feel good will be doing you good.

Yoga should really be practiced at least 2 or 3 times a week, but once a week is a good start and you should start to feel the difference in your body and mind after a few sessions.

Restorative class is a gentle stretching class with lots of relaxation, breath awareness and a long yoga nidra.

Beginner/General classes cater for both Beginner and General levels.  Poses will be explained in more detail for the benefit of beginners and simpler versions of poses demonstrated.  Everyone has the option to rest in "pose of the child" at any time when they feel the need to rest.

Restorative Yoga for Relaxation and Stress Relief

I believe just about anyone would benefit from a restorative yoga class and you can get the benefit from an occasional class, not so necessary to come along weekly. It's a bit more like a massage - it can be an occasional treat!

This is a very gentle restorative yoga class that will help you to slow down, relax and get back in control of your feelings and life.  Suitable for anyone, whether you are just a little tired, suffering from the stresses of day to day work and life, mild to chronic anxiety, chronic fatigue, adrenal fatigue or insomnia.

Insomnia, if left untreated, can lead to increasing levels of stress as you are unable to deal with day to day situations while your body is stressed from lack of sleep.

Techniques used in the class can be taken out into your day to day life and used to help you cope with stressful situations. Also suitable for carers, as it can help you deal with the demands that may be placed on you.

Suitable for all levels of yoga experience. Whether you have never stepped on a yoga mat or have been doing yoga forever, you will benefit.

Some people with anxiety find it difficult to come along to a group class to begin with, particularly if the anxiety is chronic.  If this is the case, I suggest you try some one-on-one yoga sessions to familiarise yourself with what the content of the classes will be, and to start to find some relief from your anxiety.  It may be easier to start with 45 minute sessions, please call for more information.

Research into the benefits of yoga for stress relief is on-going.  Click here for links to some scientific research that show the benefits of therapeutic yoga.

Introduction to Yoga - this caters for absolute beginners to yoga, or those who have done some yoga in the past, but feel that they need to learn more about the basics.  We will work through the basic yoga poses, plus cover breathing exercises, yogic relaxation and some of the basics of different styles of yoga.  Poses will be explained in detail and different levels shown and explained.

Most private health funds offer a rebate for yoga classes.  Yoga Australia has been very active in encouraging health funds to offer benefits for yoga classes.  Receipts will be produced at the end of each 10 week block and emailed to you. Different health funds have different requirements, so please let me know if there are specific requirements for your health fund.  Receipts will include my Yoga Australia membership number, which is the requirement for most funds.

No yoga classes will run on Public Holidays.  Classes do not break during school holidays, but if you wish to have a break then, or at any other time, just let me know and you can stay on as a "regular" attendee, but not pay for those weeks.  I sometimes take a break outside of school holidays!
