The download cost is AU$ 25.00
You will receive:
- "Sleep Like A Baby" 40 minute yoga nidra for sleep
- "Deep Body Relaxation" 27 minute yoga nidra to use for deep relaxation at anytime
- "Sleep Like A Baby" ebook, explaining the yoga nidra process
The "Deep Body Relaxation" can be used to give you an energy boost, or it can be used before bed to relax the body. While this may sound a little counter-intuitive, I can assure you it works in both situations! It is said that a 20 minute session of yoga nidra can provide the same benefit as two hours of sleep, but without the effects a 2 hour nap would have, such as getting into too deep a sleep state and disrupting the sleep pattern.
When falling asleep is a problem, your whole life suffers. You may become irritable and moody, not able to make the best decisions, your brain may become fuzzy and your memory dull. The people around you suffer too. But I probably don't need to tell you those things, you will be well aware of them already!
Yoga nidra is a yoga practice that is made up of meditation, relaxation, auto-suggestion, body scanning and breathing techniques. It is a very powerful practice that can be used for many purposes by changing parts of the content, the basic format doesn't change as its format is a tested and true method for achieving deep relaxation.
There has been a lot of research into the effectiveness of this process and you can search and find it on many websites. I prefer to use PubMed or Google Scholar, to ensure that the articles are genuine research. You can do your own research, but I have listed a couple below, with links:
Another great article to read is this one from Psychology Today, regarding the effect of lengthening the exhalation on the vagus nerve. Read it by clicking here (https://tinyurl.com/yx98zyq7). This is one of the techniques used in yoga nidra. Calming the vagus nerve will assist with preparing your body for sleep.
Yoga Nidra has been tried by many people and found to help with many problems, as the Yoga Nidra can be customised to be effective for different situations.
Listen to the preview, as one important factor is that you find the voice pleasant to listen to. Not everyone will like my voice - I don't have a problem with that! Certain voices annoy me too!
In the same way that each yoga teacher is different and has learned to teach from many teachers who came before them, this also applies to the way a yoga nidra is presented. So, if this one doesn't resonate with you, simply search on Google for another that does. I just want you to experience the effects whichever one you choose.
You need to listen to the track when you go to bed, for at least 4 days, preferably for 11 days in a row. Opinions vary on how long it takes to form a habit, but I believe that after 11 days you will be in the habit of listening to this and falling asleep.
